Yahoo! Bioshock is my favorite FPS after Half-Life 2. Honorable mentions: "Far Cry 1" and "Crysis 1", the latter having the best Boss fight ever (fighting a giant Alien while aboard a sinking aircraft carrier). Unlike Bioshock 2, Bioshock 1 is always a joy to replay, especially when you know to how to prepare for certain battles and equip yourself accordingly with the right plasmids. Another thing I love about Bioshock is the hard science of genetics as the foundation of one's powers, as apposed to "magic" always being used in video games ad nauseam. I really don't like games that involve magic. (the exception being the Tomb Raider series). Also, Bioshock's obvious spoof of Ayn Rand's self-centered Libertarianism. I do lean towards Libertarianism, just not the Ayn Rand version.

When you saved Richard and brought the serum, you got the stronger weapon Richard, in addition to Rebecca treating you in the save room, but if you do not save Richard you will not get Richard's weapon, but in return you can play Rebecca at the mutant plant. There is a mod called "Easy Hacking". What it does is that it gives you the password automatically. This results in a much faster pace in the game. Because there are about 100 password protected terminals in this game. So stopping each time to hack them all is very time consuming. Life is too short. There is also a mod called "Faster Terminals". This loads the terminal screens faster than in the vanilla game. The next-gen update does not affect these particular mods.

Wow, you're skipping a lot of .38 ammo loot. That ammo is so plentiful that it can be sold to vendors. You're missing out on making lots of caps. Really the only things you should not be picking up are perhaps sledge hammers (too heavy), burnt books (no value and dead weight), and heavy Raider armor or Metal Armor. Everything else can be looted and scrapped or sold. I get that you are trying to avoid becoming over-encumbered. Its a real risk in this game. Food items can be cooked for XP, then sold or eaten. So 99% of lootable items are useful for either scrapping or revenue or health. In my current play through which is at the half-way point in the game, I have over 50,000 caps. In one of my previous play throughs I acquired over 1,000,000 caps. Now I just have to find a real world Money Exchange who will happily take my virtual caps for cash. Wish me luck.

omg you dropped the Desk fan, yet you kept the super heavy minigun and heavy raidar armor to lighten your load. Desk fans are very valuable. So much so, that they should be bought from every vendor you meet because they contain a much needed component: "Screws".

The low intelligence way can be fun. I remember watching this other player with "1 Int" and she was hilarious! She was trying to get into this building and she kept walking by the clearly marked floor entrance numerous times like a real idiot. But she had fun playing the game. She had a great sense of humor.

It would have been very cool to see hubby's real time reaction to seeing his lookalike NPC get killed in the Day 1 episode.

At Bedford Stn where you fought all those Ghouls, there is a Steamer trunk full of loot inside the metal building. Most players miss it because they are usually looking on the floor for loot. But the trunk is found by looking up.

Its really not a good habit pointing guns at people that you don't intend to shoot (e.g. at Thicket Excavations). If you accidentally pull the trigger, then a friendly NPC can turn into a hostile one.

Your Pipboy has a flashlight which works under water. Hold down the TAB key.

Rad-X, RadAway and Stimpaks can all be added to your "Favorites" hotkeys so that you don't have to manually search for them each time.

Good first time play through! BTW there are Mods available that allows you to keep your spouse alive while playing. Never used it myself but they are available. Not sure how it works with the base game's limitation to one companion at a time. Would it allow you to keep your spouse and Dogmeat? Not sure. However there are other Mods that allow you to have multiple companions so that you could have your spouse, and Dogmeat, and some additional companions. Very helpful in a big fire fight! Fun fact: The Museum of Freedom has a secret area that was originally part of the game but for some reason was closed off in the final game release. Its still accessible with the no clipping PC console code by going into the Museum Lobby and turning left facing one of the paintings on the wall. Inside are some rooms and hallways and a tiny amount of loot. Of course, Sanctuary has a secret underground cellar in one of its houses if you look hard enough. And Red Rocket has a secret location that is revealed by reading the computer terminal there.

see this is why I hate when people stream the game instead of just playing it and recording it. You were busy talking to your streamers and missed some pretty important things....like oh I don't know the friggin nuclear explosion. You are probably pretty awesome (from what I saw of your personality I would say definitely awesome)but the whole thing is ruined when streamers are too busy talking to the chat instead of paying attention to the game so good luck hope this does amazing for you and I will give it a like on my way out the door.
